Don't victimise husbands

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs. Bisi Fayemi, has warned women in the state against the misuse of the gender- based violence prohibition law in the state to victimise their husbands and other male folks.Fayemi said this in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday during the commencement of a 16-day activism against all forms of violence against women.The governors wife said women group would not allow women to use the law to victimise men.The governors wife urged women to be submissive to their husbands. She also asked them to report any form of ill-treatment against them to the appropriate quarters for the government to take punitive measures against such offenders.She said the gender-based violence prohibition law was enacted to curtail the activities of some men who were in the habit of perpetrating crimes against women and not to punish anybody who did not violate the law.
