In an effort to have a bacteria-free community and promote the practice of good hygiene, Procter and Gamble has introduced a new brand of an anti-bacterial soap known as Safeguard Anti-bacteria Soap into the Nigerian market.In an interactive media session in Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday, Procter and Gamble's Head of External Relations, Mrs Patricia Obojuwa, said that Safeguard is a soap with a mission to kill germs and that Procter and Gamble, which produced the product is committed to the purpose of improving and touching lives worldwide.The aim of introducing the product is to effectively remove millions of germs, re-energise health, and influence children to cultivate healthy habits.Present on the occasion were the company's executives including Procter and Gamble's Associate Marketing Director, Mrs Ehis Ojemen, Mrs Patricia Obojuwa, Head of External Relations, Mrs Shana, Brand Manager of the new product.In a press release issued by the company it was stated that Safeguard is the world's leading anti-bacteria soap, which has been helping mothers all over the word to protect their families against germs and it is also the goal of the company in delivering germ protection.Its effective anti-bacteria properties are in line with the brand's mission to protect families against germs and educate mothers and children on the importance of hand washing, in essence, making Safeguard a true champion of health worldwide.The introduction of Safeguard into the Nigerian market is in line with the company's position as a co- developer of the Global Hand washing day, an event, which creates awareness on the importance of hand washing and with Safeguard, it is known to effectively remove millions of germs from the surface of the skin unlike the use of ordinary soap.Safeguard's unique formulation prevents the re-growth of skin germs for up to 12 hours after washing. It is in the light of this Safeguard is partnering with the African Medical Association(AFMA) to promote hand washing culture amongst children who are the champions of Health Schools Program.In her address, Mrs Ojemen said that it is the aim and objective of the champions of Health Schools Program to promote and reinforce health and hygiene messages among children across Nigeria, by teaching them about the benefits of hand washing with soap.
