Minimum wage: Orji's hand of comradeship

The Governor of Abia State, Chief Theodore Orji, was a civil servant in the state for a greater part of his working life. He also served as the Chief of Staff to a former Governor of the state, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, for eight years. When, however, the Federal Government announced the commencement of the new National Minimum Wage structure across the federation, Abia workers like their colleagues in other states were apprehensive. Events in the past few weeks have proved such apprehension wrong as the state government exceeded their imagination as EMEKA OKAFOR reports from Umuahia.
