Nokia N9 smartphone hits Nigerian market

Nokia has officially inaugurated the Nokia N9, the latest smartphone from the stable of the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer.Nokia, in a statement on Friday, said that the new smartphone was built for people who appreciated a stunning blend of design and the latest smartphone technology.The Vice-President, Nokia West Africa, Mr. James Rutherfoord, said, The Nokia N9, which is available in select markets across the world, is perfectly suited for Nigerias high-tech and style conscious consumer who demand best-in-class products.According to him, the Nokia N9 introduces an innovative new design where the home key is replaced by a simple gesture: a swipe.He said, Whenever youre in an application, swiping from the edge of the display takes you home. The three home views of the user interface are designed to give fast access to the most important things people do with a phone such as using apps, staying up to date with notifications and social networks, and switching between activities.The General Manager, Business Intelligence, MTN, Mr. Ibrahim Gana, in his remarks, said MTN was delighted to be associated with the Nokia N9, disclosing that the telecoms company was offering a free data plan of 1.5GB valid for 3 months for all Nokia N9 users on its network.The Finnish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs. Riitta Korpivaara, said given Nokias rich heritage, she had no doubt that Nokia would continually meet the challenges of the respective markets where its devices were sold.
