World heavy weight champion Wladimir Klitschko should be fit to defend his title against Frances Jean-Marc Mormeck after undergoing surgery to have a kidney stone removed this weekend, his manager said on Sunday. The IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight belt holder is due to face Mormeck, 39, in Dusseldorf on Saturday and a decision as to whether the fight can go ahead is expected soon. The operation went well. If there are no unforeseen complications hell fight, said his manager Bernd Bonte. Its a delicate situation but thankfully most of the training has already been done. Well see how he reacts to the surgery. In the end its up to Wladimir to decide. The history of boxing is full of last minute cancellations, but I hope that Wladimir will fight.Having beaten Britains David Haye in July to add the WBA belt to his collection, Klitschko was scheduled for his 20th world title fight against Mormeck and his record is 56 wins, 49 knockouts and only three defeats. There is a pre-fight press conference still scheduled for Monday in Dusseldorf.
