Super Bowl Halftime Show 2015: Katy Perry Odds, Info for Patriots vs. Seahawks

Published by Bleacher Report on Fri, 30 Jan 2015

It's not often football gets overshadowed at a football game, but that is exactly what happens every year at the Super Bowl, with parties, highly anticipated commercials and a halftime concert sure to make headlines. This year's halftime entertainment during the showdown between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks features singer Katy Perry. This being the Super Bowl, there are plenty of opportunities to gamble on Perry's performance. Here is a look at some of those odds as well as information for the game itself. All odds and point spreads are courtesy of Odds Shark (game and Perry props) as of Thursday morning at 11 a.m. ET.Katy Perry Halftime Show OddsHow many times will Katy Perry be mentioned in the first half'Over/Under 1.5Which song will Katy Perry perform first at halftime'"Firework" 3-2"Roar" 3-2"This Is How We Do" 5-1"Dark Horse" 12-1"E.T." 12-1"Wide Awake" 12-1"Waking Up in Vegas" 20-1What will Katy Perry be wearing when she begins the halftime show'Skirt or Dress 4-5Pants (below knees) 2-1Shorts (above knees) 2-1What color will Katy Perry's hair be when she begins the halftime show'Black/Brown 2-1Pink/Red 3-1Blue/Green 3-1Blond4-1Purple 5-1Super Bowl 2015 InfoMatchup: New England Patriots vs. Seattle SeahawksDate: Sunday, Feb. 1Time: 6:30 p.m. ETTV: NBCSpread: Patriots -1PredictionYou would be hard-pressed to script a better matchup in the Super Bowl than a showdown between Tom Brady and the Seattle Seahawks defense. After all, Brady is playing in a quarterback-record sixth Super Bowl and will go down as one of the greatest players in the history of the game, while the Seattle defense is an absolute force that controls almost every contest it plays. The Seahawks were first in total defense, first in scoring defense, first against the pass and third against the run this season and are looking for a second straight title.Seattle physically overwhelms its opponents on a consistent basis and will try to do the same Sunday by pressuring Brady with the front four and shutting down the wide receivers and tight end Rob Gronkowski with the leagues best secondary.Seattle also understands that it has to be prepared for a number of different offensive looks from New England, as defensive end Michael Bennett said, via Tom Layman of the Boston Herald:I think its up to the defense. If you let him throw the ball, hes going to throw the ball. If you let him run the ball, they are going to run the ball. Thats how you play great football. Some coaches believe that you want to hit a certain amount or number of a certain this or that, but I believe the Patriots believe that whatever is working, thats what they are going to do.Seattle doesn't play a physical brand of football on just the defensive side, though. It was tops in the league in rushing yards this season behind the combination of Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch. The Seahawks are capable of running through the tackles with the powerful Lynch or around the edge with the fleet-footed Wilson and will give New Englands front seven trouble throughout the game.ESPN Stats & Info noted just how effective Lynch has been in the playoffs while also pointing out that Seattle is simply the most physical team in the league on both sides of the ball:The Seahawks will control the clock with the rushing attack of Wilson and Lynch, which will keep the dangerous Brady on the sidelines. The lockdown defense will take care of the rest after the offense spots Seattle an early lead.Get ready for talk about a new dynasty, because the Seahawks are going to win their second Lombardi Trophy in a row.Prediction: Seahawks winFollow me on Twitter:Follow @ScottPolacek
