The Ijale Papa community in AbeokutaNorth Local Government Area of Ogun State was agog last Tuesday, as Oba Micheal Ajibola Babalola, was installed as the Onijale of Ijale by the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.Sons and daughters of the community turned out in large numbers to witness the occasion of installation and presentation of staff of office to the new traditional ruler.Amosun, represented by Hon Muyiwa Oladipo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, while presenting the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to the new traditional ruler at the community centre, congratulated the entire people of ljale Papa community, home and abroad, for their patience and cooperation with the present administration towards the successful installation of their Oba.The governor noted the efforts of the people of the community for living in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility during the interregnum and pointed out that, the ovation that followed the choice of the oba was evident of their acceptance of the new Oba.He further emphasised that the reign of the monarch would bring about socio-economic development not only to Ijale-papa community but also the whole of Egba land.He charged the new traditional ruler that: 'You should be ready to serve the people wholeheartedly and be committed to creating an atmosphere that would facilitate rapid socio- economic development in ljale-Papa community and its environs, as well as in Egba land, by extension'The Chairman Transition Committee, Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Kamil Kolawole Akinola, at the occasion, congratulated the Yalumo Ruling and ljale Kingmakers for the choice of Oba Ajibola Babalola to fill the vacant stool of Onijale.He assured the people of the community that the present administration would improve on the standard of living of the people at grassroots through the provision of qualitative free education, free health care service, clean environment, rural integration among others.In his acceptance speech, Oba Babalola, Yalumo Ndose II, thanked God for making the day a reality and the state government for its support as well as other well wishers who contributed to his success of the installation.The trditional ruler urged the state government to acquiesce to the request of the community by further impact on the lives of the people through provision of road network, potable water, establishment of youth empowerment programme, health care delivery centre, among others.
