MultiChoice unveils new activation method for DStv Mobile

DStv customers can now activate the DStv Mobile service without having to go through the MultiChoice call centre.DStv Mobile says subscribers can activate their DStv Mobile device online by visiting www.dstvmobile.com and 'following a few simple steps'.Previously, the only option to activate DStv Mobile devices was to do so through telephone calls via MultiChoice call centre. The company said that the introduction of online activations means consumers now have a more convenient and faster way to activate their device, at any given time.A DStv Connect account is however, required in order to access the online activation service. It is available to all DStv Mobile subscribers and can be used to activate the Drifta, Drifta USB and the Walka TV.DStv Mobile said that other developments on its plate include the introduction of new applications. 'To make the DStv Mobile Streaming service on mobile operator portals easier to access, DStv Mobile has created a bookmark application for Java ME, BlackBerry, and Android devices.The application is currently available for free from the Android Market, and the Vodacom applications store. More stores will be added soon.'The satellite television company's mobile arm said that it is bringing DStv content to customers this festive season through various means, including the Walka TV, which is available as of today, and the Drifta, which is compatible with Mac OS X and select Android devices.
