Enyimba's pioneering efforts get boost at NIFEX

Published by Guardian on Tue, 06 Dec 2011

GUESTS and sports marketing experts have commended Enyimba of Aba for its pioneering effort at the recent Nigeria International Football Expo (NIFEX) organised by Fairplay Limited at the Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja. The former African champion, through its marketing consultant, Youdees Limited, was the only Nigerian club that had an exhibition stand alongside corporate organisations that displayed their products and services at the NIFEX.Lead Consultant at Youdees, Harry Iwuala, explained that, 'Enyimba International is without doubt the only Nigerian club that can be described as a brand and we recognise that for brand sustenance, Enyimba has to play where brands play. This is why we took the club to the second NIFEX.'Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Arena Signage, Nigeria's leading game day branding company, Obi Nnaobi, has described NIFEX as the appropriate platform for clubs seeking corporate and commercial partnerships to interact. According to him, 'Enyimba has demonstrated that the club truly aspires to be a great football brand and I think that they are heading in the right direction by participating in the expo.'Commendations for Enyimba also flowed from the chairman of the expo discussion forum, Rex Danquah, and an American visitor to the Enyimba Stand. For Danquah, 'the time has come for club managers to realise that they are managing products that require total marketing and communication management, which comes from trade exhibitions, advertising and deploying every brand management tool.
