ASUU seeks govt's help for OOU

TEACHERS at the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State have appealed to the state government to check what they refer to as 'rot' in the institution.The immediate past administration in the state sacked over 150 academic and non-academic staff in the institution who are yet to be replaced.The teachers under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), OOU branch said the worrisome situation had paralysed many activities at the institution, stressing that there was an urgent need to redress the situation.The local ASUU Chairman, Dr. Adesola Nasir who spoke to reporters disclosed that many facilities in the institution were in a deplorable condition, disclosing that the school's transport system, for example had completely broken down due to lack of vehicles and ascribed the situation to 'bad policies' of the immediate past administration in the state.
