Boko Haram: Ndume to spend more days in SSS detention

One of the alleged sponsors of Boko Haram, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, will spend more days in the custody of the State Security Service (SSS) as the Federal Government has filed fresh charges against him before a Federal High Court in Abuja.A Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja was to decide whether or not to grant Ndume bail yesterday, but the prosecution counsel, Mr. Steve Osagie, approached the court with an application for the withdrawal of the earlier charge preferred against Ndume, following the filing of a fresh one at the Federal High Court.Ndume, who has been in the custody of the SSS, is standing trial for alleged breach of official trust and criminal intimidation by anonymous communication. He pleaded not guilty to the charges while the former spokesman of Boko Haram, Umaru Konduga Ali, (Usman Al-Zawahiri), who was arraigned along with him, pleaded guilty to the charges slammed against him and was consequently convicted by the court.
