Crown supporters beg Ajimobi

Published by Tribune on Wed, 07 Dec 2011

SUPPORTERS of Crown FC of Ogbomoso have appealed to the Oyo State government to, as a matter of urgency, put in place a new board for the club so that preparation for next season can commence in earnest. The state government, it will be recalled, sacked every personnel of the team, due to poor performance last season, promising to re-organise the club ahead of the incoming season. The decision was described by the fans of the club as the best for the club to have a change of fortune. However, fans of the club are fast losing patience over the government's silence since the entire team was scrapped over a week ago with nothing done yet to put the club back on track for next season's hostilities. Some of the fans who spoke with Tribunesports on the development commended the government for taking the decision to reposition the club but expressed fear that delaying the re-organisation further will not in any way augur well for the team in its quest to stage a quick return back to the premier league. The supporters appealed to the state government to speed up action in constituting a new mangement for the club so that it can begin preparation early enough for next season."We commend the effort of the government in dissolving the management, that was what we clamoured for when the Commissioner organised a stakeholder meeting here in Ogbomoso. Now we want the government to put in palce a new board in order for praparation for neaxt team to start. Other clubs are already getting ready,'' said one of the fans.
