Ajiboye still in tears

Goalkeeper of the national U-23 team, Dele Ajiboye, has yet to recover from the shock of seeing Nigeria miss out on the London 2012 Olympics, saying the team have missed their chance of regaining Nigerias pride in football.Ajiboye was blamed when Nigeria fell behind against Senegal for miscalculating his steps but the former Golden Eaglets hero said he recovered from the mistake early enough to encourage the team.He said, "Its painful missing out on the London 2012 Olympics. I still find it hard to get over it because it would have been our opportunity to regain Nigerias pride."I felt bad after the mistake that gave Senegal the first goal because I had never conceded a goal of that nature in the national team. But I had to quickly recover from the mistake and encourage my teammates."The score line was not a true reflection of what happened on the field. We were better than Senegal but luck was not on our side. In fact, I still believe we were the best team in the tournament but thats hard to explain after we lost out. "We should be looking to the future now and hope to build a stronger team."
