ACN 'll challenge Wada's victory ' Melaye

Published by Punch on Thu, 08 Dec 2011

A chief of the Action Congress of Nigeria in Kogi State, Mr. Dino Melaye, says the party will challenge the outcome of the Saturdays governorship election in the state. He told journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, that the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party in the election was temporal.Malaye said, If the PDP got it through the door, we will get it through the window. We are saying that the ACN will not take it lightly and we are going to fight it in the court. I want to advise Kogites to remain peaceful and law-abiding that this stolen mandate will be restored in a matter of months. The former member of the House of Representatives, who is the Chief Campaign Strategists of the ACN governorship candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Audu, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to produce the original result of the election.According to him, the result of the election won by the PDP candidate, Capt. Idris Wada, does not reflect the wishes and aspiration of the people of the state. He said, As at Saturday night, the ACN had won in about 14 of the 16 Local Government Areas so far collated, but before daybreak, we discovered that the results had been manipulated.I want to tell the PDP that their victory over the ACN is temporal and evaporative and that it is just a matter of time. We call on INEC to ameliorate the situation because the results sheets were falsified and duplicated. The commission should release the final results because the one released does not reflect the wishes and aspirations of Kogi people.According to Melaye, the ACN won the election, adding that if the PDP got it through the door, we will get it through the window. He said, The truth of the matter is that the PDP graduated from winning election through the use of thugs to falsification of results which is scientific rigging.
