Reform tops agenda in battle for new PDP chair

THE People's Democratic Party (PDP) may soon enter a period of reform if Ibrahim Shehu Birma becomes the new national Chairman of the party.Birma who commenced a tour of all the states in the north western region of the country, had recently completed a tour of the north eastern states.He said he was embarking on this tour because of his belief that the Chairman of a truly national party like the PDP must get the support of all constituent elements in the country as a means of preparing the person for the task of being a truly national Chairman whose emergence has the support of a vast majority of members.The first leg of the tour took the chairmanship hopeful to Jigawa and Kano States, where he promised to run a PDP national executive that would start early to build the foundations for a resounding victory for the party in the 2015 national elections.
