WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for February 9

Published by Bleacher Report on Mon, 09 Feb 2015

Focus tightens on Fast Lane on the Feb. 9 edition of WWE Raw.Rusev's upcoming career-defining showdown, tension within the tag team division and the hunt for championships will all get air time as Raw heads to the Schottenstein Center inColumbus, Ohio. WWE will also hype Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns, a match created just last week.Defeating Rollins earned Bryan a chance to face Reigns at Fast Lane. The winner of that bout nabs the No. 1 contender's spot heading into WrestleMania. This is all part of WWE's continued efforts to quiet the anti-Reigns backlash from Bryan supporters. Seeing how successful the company is winning folks over and elevating Reigns will be just as intriguing to watch as the action in the ring. Will some familiar faces join these men' Will some unlucky grappler fall to an enraged John Cena'Arena reports, announcements from WWE andJames Wortman's five-point preview on WWE.com help provide answers to those questions, as well as give fans an idea of what to expect when Raw airs at 8 p.m. ET on USA.Hall of Fame ClassArnold Schwarzenegger and Randy Savage are about to get company. The list of inductees set for the Hall of Famer will grow by one on Monday night.WWE announced on its official website that it will reveal the newest member of the 2015 Hall of Fame class on Monday's Raw.The company teased that the inductee could come from a variety of places: "Will this 2015 WWE Hall of Famer be from WWEs Attitude Era' Is it a groundbreaking WWE Diva' Or is it perhaps a fan-favorite competitor from ECW, WCW or another classic promotion'"News, Potential SpoilersThe roster promises to be deeper when Raw airs. A number of absent Superstars worked the weekend's live events, those appearances serving as possible precursors to their return to action on Monday nights.Heath Slater is one of those men.Legal trouble has kept The One Man Band out of action, but that appears to be over.Asnotedon PWInsider, Slater wrestled on a house show on Feb. 7 in Jacksonville, Florida. He teamed with Curtis Axel and Hornswoggle in six-man action. His return comes following news last month that, according toFox Atlanta, that the assault charges against him "have been dropped."Bo Dallas and Randy Orton also stepped into the ring after being away for significant time.Per Pro Wrestling Torch, Orton battled Kane at the Feb. 7 live event in Salt Lake City, Utah, whileDallas went up against Sin Cara.Pro Wrestling Torch also reportsthat Orton and Dallas both worked the Feb. 8 show in Huntington, West Virginia.A fan in attendance posted a shot of Orton in Utah:Dallas' appearances confirms that he is fully recovered from his foot injury. Orton showing up may be a sign that WWE is finally ready to write him back into programming. The company, though, may wish to save his televised return for Fast Lane. One sign pointing in that direction is that, as Pro Wrestling Torch's James Caldwellnotes,WWE has pulled Orton from advertising.Caldwell also points an odd item worth noting. He writes,"WWE World Hvt. champion Brock Lesnar is listed for the show on WWE's event roster, but WWE has not advertised The Champ for the Raw broadcast."With no title match lined up for Lesnar at Fast Lane, one would assume WWE would save his next appearance until after that pay-per-view. Regardless, he is listed for Monday's show.Moving Toward Fast LaneWWE is sure to focus on Cena and Rusev en route to their match at Fast Lane. The company has treated it like the event's semi-main event. The last few days has seen Rusev gain momentum by walloping Erick Rowan. He ambushed him before their match on last week's Raw. The bruiser then left Rowan out cold on Thursday's SmackDown.Look for Monday to be Cena's turn to build himself up.Wortman writes,"Expect Cena to step up his game as his collision with The Hero of the Russian Federation approaches."That sounds like someone will be tasting an Attitude Adjustment. Paige will certainly have revenge on her mind in Ohio. Last Monday, Alicia Fox, Nikki Bella and Brie Bella ganged up on her, covering her belly with tanning spray.Nikki is set to defend the Divas Championship against Paige at Fast Lane. That's where the challenger is most likely to administer payback. WWE is sure to touch on the rivalry beforehand, but history says the women won't get much airtime to escalate the feud.Goldust and Stardust, despite being brothers and tag team partners, are drawing in on their own rivalry. They continue to bicker during and after matches. On Thursday's SmackDown, Stardust left the ring mid-battle.Fans may now see these two end their alliance.Wortmanasks in his five-point preview,"Will the brothers attempt some sort of reconciliation on Raw, or is this intergalactic tandem about to explode, Death Star-style'"Also look for Dean Ambrose and Bad News Barrett burgeoning rivalry to pick up. Ambrose challenged Barrett to an Intercontinental Championship match; the champ has claimed that The Lunatic Fringe doesn't deserve a title shot. With the Fast Lane card in need of midcard matchups and Ambrose in need of something to do while he is currently pushed out of the crowded main event scene, fans can bet on Barrett eventually giving in and this match becoming official. The pay-per-view's marquee bout pits two babyfaces against each other, Reigns colliding with Bryan. The clash's lack of heel is going to lead toThe Authority getting involved in a major way. Wortman hints that Triple H and company are going to make life very hard for both Bryan and Reigns.Hewrites,"What awaits these Superstars on Raw, and how will Seth Rollins reap the benefits of their torment'"This Rollins-Bryan-Reigns story along with all the other in-progress rivalries will have WWE Creative plenty busy. Slater, Dallas and Orton fans will be hoping that Monday's Raw will also have room for those men to step between the ropes again.
