Appeal Court rules today on Plateau governorship polls petition

THE Court of Appeal in Jos has fixedtomorrow for judgment in the appeal filed by the Labour Party governorship candidate, Pauline Tallen against Governor Jonah Jang in the April 26 governorship election in Plateau State.Jang of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Tallen were among the eight candidates who contested the governorship election. Jang was declared winner of the election while Tallen, the runner-up, petitioned the electoral tribunal in Jos.The governorship tribunal had dismissed Tallen's petition that prompted her to make an appeal.One of the appeals is an interlocutory one brought by Tallen seeking the permission of the court to be allowed to tender additional evidence to substantiate her claim in the main appeal.
