How observers facilitated Kogi guber poll succeess

During the April 2011 general elections, Kogi state was one of the few states designated by both local and international election observers as possible flashpoints. This is informed by the level of violence that had attended previous elections in the state. Given the conduct of politicians and political parties in the recently concluded party primaries in Kogi state, there were fears that political desperation and opportunism still ran high in the confluence state.
