Published by Guardian on Sat, 10 Dec 2011

CHAIRMAN, House Committee on Science and Technology, Biodun Isiaq Akinlade has urged support for the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, as Ogun State towards rebuilding the state. He spoke last weekend in Abuja when members of Yewa-Awori Concerened Professionals (YACP) paid him a visit.Akinlade noted that there is nothing anybody could do about Amosun becoming the governor as he had been destined for the position, saying, 'So, we have to give His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun our unflinching support towards his quest to rebuild Ogun state.'Akinlade, who represents Yewa South and Ipokia Federal Constituency at he National Assembly however said that come 2015, he would work for whoever is chosen from Yewa-Awori as Governor of Ogun State.'At the last election in Ogun State, about 95 percent of Yewa-Awori believed and worked for the realization of our dream of becoming the governor as the Egbas did for Governor Amosun, but the presence of two Yewa candidates in the race made us to lose the opportunity.'He lamented that they were unable to reconcile their diferences, adding, 'that followed us to the poll with divided votes'.Akinlade described Amosun as a cool and collected gentleman who has the fear of God, and Yewa-Awori people love him for that, stressing that what Ogun West people want is equal opportunity to the governorship of the state.'We have to go back to the drawing board to re-strategize for the next election in the state. I want to assure my people of the seat of governor in Ogun State, and with God on our side, I belief Yewa-Awori shall realize our ambition.
