SuperSport initiates talent hunt programme

Pay channel, SuperSport, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Sports on Wednesday in Lagos inaugurated the Lets Play initiative for the game of rugby. Speaking at the event held at the Onikan Stadium, Secretary Lagos State Sports Endowment Fund, Mr. Tunde Bank-Anthony, who represented the states Commissioner for Sports, said the Lets Play initiative was a project designed by SuperSport to help create a healthy sporting spirit among Nigerian youths and prepare them for a future career in sports.General Manager, SuperSport, Mr. Felix Awogu, said the Lets Play initiative was designed to "catch our children at a young age and introduce them to various sports."He added that the programme, which has gained popularity across African, would cover different sports in the country. Awogu said the initiative was geared towards helping children to develop physically and mentally in the bid to help them live more productive lives when they grew up. Manager, SuperSport Enterprise and coordinator of the initiative, Mr. Vaughn Bishop, explained that the initiative was designed for boys and girls. "The programme will help young kids to socialise, build character and develop both physically and mentally," Bishop said.In August, SuperSport kicked off the Lets Play initiative with a soccer clinic for kids at Campos Stadium, Lagos Island. Hundreds of children from various secondary schools featured in the sport clinic.
