Gaidam tasks Yobe Chief Judge on judicial reforms, service

YOBE State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, has tasked the State Chief Judge, Justice Garba Musa Nabaruma and Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education (SUBEC), Gagarau Isa Bizi on service delivery andreformation of the Judiciary to ensure quick dispensation of justice in the state.Gaidam gave these charges, at the weekend in Damaturu, while swearing in the new Chief Judge of the State and Chairman of SUBEC as well as Bulama El-Wakil and Abba Disa Gadaka, members of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YSIEC) at WAWA hall.The Governor disclosed that the sworn in officers were found worthy to occupy the positions and also because of their wealth of experience in their respective fields.He said: 'with your appointments and subsequent swearing in, you are to reform the judiciary, so that the dispensation of justice would not be denied. We expect the new Chief Judge to be above board, impartial and fearless in the discharge of his duties. His Lordship is coming at a time when there is a consensus in the Judiciary itself that the institution needs to undergo reforms. It is only a fearless, focused, effective and incorruptible judiciarythat can advance the course of democracy and good governance in the country.On the new YSIEC officials,' Gaidam said ,'you are to ensure that the council elections are free and fair.'He added that government will procure and distribute vehicles and legal books to the State Judiciary, so that the dispensation of justice is not hindered or jeopardized.
