Stanbic IBTC Pension reiterates commitment to CSR

As part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited, a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, has said that it is promoting safety among commercial motorcyclists in the country.In a statement on Friday, the firm said that it donated 500 crash helmets to commercial motorcyclists in Ekiti State.The Chief Executive Officer, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited, Dr. Demola Sogunle, was cited as saying the initiative was part of a series of activities focused on contributing to the upliftment of communities through interventions in the areas of education, health and economic empowerment, across the country.He said, We believe strongly in adding value to the communities in which we operate. We will continue to identify partnership opportunities towards the sustained development and implementation of sundry empowerment projects in Ekiti State and across the country.Head of Sales, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited, Bimbo Ladele, said the donation of crash helmets to commercial motorcyclists was aimed at aligning with the organisations philosophy of securing, not just today, but tomorrow.He added that its concern was to safeguard the future of Nigerians after retirement, through its well structured pension and retirement services.He stated, Safety is one of the services we render. We manage pension and retirement funds in ways that ensure their safety. Safety is also one of our core values, making the presentation of crash helmets to members of the Okada Riders Association in Ekiti State, a symbolic gesture for Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited.The PFA, he added, collaborated with the Federal Road Safety Commission to implement the same initiative in Lagos and Ekiti states.The statement quoted the Sector Commander, FRSC, Ekiti State Command, Francis Udoma, to have described the donation of the crash helmets as a laudable initiative, which ought to be emulated by corporate organisations in the country.It stated that Udoma charged the okada riders to make optimal use of the helmets at all times.He added that the initiative would have positive impact on the ongoing dialogue between FRSC and the leadership of Okada Riders Association over compliance with the use of crash helmets by its members in Ekiti State.
