Pam Kabiri wins Tiger Open

PAM Kabiri of Jos Golf Club has won this year's edition of Tiger Open amateur golf tournament which held at Tiger Golf Club (TGC), Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Odogbo, Ibadan on Sunday.Pam won the overall best Gross ahead of his opponent from Sagamu Golf Club, Michael Balogun who claim the runner up Gross over 36 holes.In his speech, Kabiri said it is an honour for him to win the 16th edition of Tiger Open."This is my first time of coming to play here and I need to thank God for giving me the victory."My next target is to win the forth coming President Open Golf Tourney in Abuja and by God's grace victory is going to be mine".Meanwhile, the former first Lady of Oyo State , Alhaja Olayinka Mutiat Ladoja has enjoined the ladies golfers not to relent in their effort on the games.She said, women are not involving in the golf game now more than before. "We have women doing sports more than before. In those days, sports were meant for men but now, we have so many women like my self, Lady Ekana, former Ladies Golfers President who step down two weeks ago."Golf is a life, is a good game and is keep's you fit," she stated.Acording to her, "the game needed to be introduced to schools because golf has not been known very well and it has to be developed when you are young , unlike me, i joined when i'm over 40 which shouldn't have been."So, I think the government should introduced golf to schools."Furthermore, the Patron and General Officer Commander (GOC), 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General M.D Abubakar thank all the participant and commend the effort of Local Organising Committee for a job well done.
