CPC appeal: S/Court begins hearing

THE Supreme Court will this morning begin hearing in the appeal filed by the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) challenging the decision of the Presidential Election Tribunal, which had on November 1 upheld the victory of President Goodluck Jonathan in the April general election.Hearing in the appeal was supposed to have started last Thursday but the absence of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Dahiru Musdapher, stalled it as the court was told that the panel to sit on it was yet to be constituted.The Supreme Court had on Friday issued a statement signed by the Chief Registrar, Sunday Olorundahunsi, stating that the CJN had constituted the panel and that the panel would commence hearing today.
