Abule-Egba residents seek police protection

Residents ofAbule-Egba inIfako Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State have called on the Lagos Police Command to beef up security in the area to forestall cases of armed robbers in the area.Community News learnt that robbers usually stormed the area in the evening between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. when people were retuning to their homes.Community News gathered that the men of the underworld usually used motor bikes for their operations.Speaking on the situation, a resident, Alhaji Bayo Ajanaku, called on the police to come to the rescue of the area so as to restore confidence in the people.'We live in fear of armed robbers. Police should do something about the urgly situation. The upsurge in the cases of robberies is giving us concern. We don't feel comfortable going home again after the day's job'.Also, a women in the area, Amina Ayinla, told Community News that she lost valuables like gold, handsets and money to the men of the underworld when they visited her house.'We were just returning home around 10pm on that fateful Friday when they came.
