Chinese, Japanese investors to partner Anambra on refinery

A group of investors from China and Japan has sought to partner the Anambra State Government and other owners to complete the Orient Petroleum Refinery in the state.The group, which met with the Governor Peter Obi on Tuesday in Awka, said the refinery was one of the areas where it had intention to invest huge resources in the state.The leader of the team, Mr. Akuzu Nwokedi, said the team would work with Orient Petroleum Incorporation of the United States to facilitate the completion of the refinery project.A member of the team, Mr. Machindin Amatsu, said the team would not only invest in the state, but would also attract more investments into other lines of business.The governor said Nigeria was one of the most fertile countries for investment, adding that the country had created an avenue for in-flow of capital and easy repatriation of profit by investors.In addition, he said Nigeria had the biggest market in Africa that provided viable alternative to the highly competitive markets in the developed economies.Obi noted that Anambra, as the home of entrepreneurship, required increased power supply as more industries and businesses would soon come on stream.
