The Police in Ondo State on Tuesday said some people had been arrested in connection with a clash involving two rival cult groups, leading to the death of a popular political thug simply identified as Eso, and four others in Ondo town on Sunday.Eso was allegedly stabbed to death during the grand finale of the Star Mega jams promo attended by youths from Ondo and other towns.The development forced some members of the rival cult in the town to go on the rampage.The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Aremu Adeniran, told our correspondent on the telephone on Tuesday that two cult members died during the clash.He said, We have arrested some people in connection with the clash which involved two cult groupsEiye and KK. Two members of the cult groups died in the process and we have started investigation into the matter.Investigation by our correspondent revealed that the incident was a reprisal attack on the Eso-led Eye Confraternity by the KK, who were allegedly attacked recently.Eso and his gang were said to be enjoying themselves when the KK members pounced on them and stabbed him and his personal assistant, simply identified as Jimi.The clash, according to investigations, also led to the death a member of the KK, simply identified as Ladi, and two others. All the affected persons were said to be supporters of some Ondo state-based politicians.
