Alaafin lauds Timi of Ede

THE Alaafin ofOyo, Oba LamidiOlayiwola Adeyemi III, has commended the people of Ede and their traditional ruler, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, for upholding the culture of their ancesstors.Oba Adeyemi, who gave the commendation during the 2011 Ede Mapo Arogun day, which was celebrated in the town recently, said the traditional ruler has, since assumption of office, been doing all within his power to promote the cherished Yoruba tradition and put his town in the front burner among leading towns in Yorubaland.The Alaafin called for more protection for the Yoruba Language, saying 'that language remains the indispensable tools not only of communication, but the sustenance of tradition and historical heritage of any nation or race to thrive.'Oba Adeyemi praised the people of Ede for rallying around their Oba at all times and for promoting the culture of Yoruba in all ramifications.Oba Adeyemi discribed Timi of Ede as hard working, intelligent and a patriotic monarch who could be vouched for at all times and who always exude the characteristic of Yoruba behavioural concept of Omoluabi.
