Traditional ruler seeks indigenes' support for Edunabon

Published by Tribune on Wed, 14 Dec 2011

The traditionalruler of Edunabon in Ife-North Local Government Area of Osun state, Oba Elijah Omoloye, has expressed his gratitude to all sons and daughters of the community for their contributions during Edunabon Day celebrations held recently.According to the traditional ruler, the amount realised during the celebrations was a big improvement over that of last year. He prayed that God will replenish every purse and pocket where the money came from. While speaking on the proposed removal of oil subsidy by the Federal Government, the traditional ruler stated that Nigeria was not ripe enough for such a move, noting that majority of Nigerians were still wallowing in abject poverty and such move will only worsen the their plights. He also called on well-meaning Nigerians to come and invest in Edunabon, a community that was blessed with arable land, with safe and conducive environment for good business and a haven for profitable ventures. The monarch urged the youths to shun actscapable of tarnishing their image and that of their families.Oba Omoloye, however, commended the Chairman Caretaker Management Committee of Ife-North Local Government council for the people-oriented programmes he has been embarking upon since his inception in office. He later enjoined the state government to assist the community in tarring Edunabon township roads as well as repairing the Tonkere Bridge, construction of canal for Olumese for ease of water-flow so as not to take over the main road in the future.
