RTEAN resumes work today in Oyo

MEMBERS of the Road TransportEmployer's Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) will resume full operations in Oyo State today, following the state's Transport Ministry's clarification sometime ago that the ban on transport union activities did not affect the RTEAN.In a release from the association's Ketu head office, Lagos, signed by the spokesman, Mr Lekan Adetimehin, members are expected to take 'full control in Oyo State to ensure free traffic flow preparatory to the festive period.'Chief Gabriel Adeniyi, the National Coordinator of RTEAN, explained that commercial vehicle owners were 'automatic members of RTEAN and needed not fear anything.'The executive governor of Oyo State, Senator Ajimobi, is expected to kick-off the 'operation safe and free Traffic Flow' during the Xmas and New Year festivities, at Iwo Road from 10:00 a.m.today, the statement said.
