Ogunto invest in agric business

OGUN State government has said that it will invest in agricultural business in order to create wealth and generate employment.The state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun stated this recently, in his address while hosting the chairman and members of theRevenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to a dinner at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta.Senator Amosun emphasised that attention must be focused on agriculture by all the three tiers of government in order to reduce the dependence on oil, adding that apart from providing necessary support and farming equipment to farmers, attention would be focused on agricultural business to ensure sustainable economic development.While commending members of the Commission for their initiatives on 'economic diversification to enhance revenue generation', Senator Amosun urged them to, as a matter of urgency, take into consideration the review of the federal revenue allocation formula in favour of states.He stressed that Ogun State should be considered to have more percentage allocated to it considering the potentials of the state in terms of enormous resources and technical know-how.He charged members of the Commission to take into consideration the number of educational institutions, hospitals, land mass and population as criteria before allocating any percentage to the states.He reiterated the commitment of the present administration to continue to provide conducive atmosphere for investors in order to boost the economy of the state.
