Senate receives N249.54bn NDDC budget

The Senate has received the N249.54bn budget proposals of the Niger Delta Development Commission for the fiscal year 2012.President Goodluck Jonathan had forwarded a letter to that effect, which was read on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday by the President of the Senate, David Mark.According to Jonathan, the figure represents an increase of 4.64 per cent over last years budget.The budget is made up of N9.48bn for personnel expenditure; N7.03bn, recurrent expenditure; N877.09m, capital expenditure; and N232.14bn for development projects.Senators had over the years protested the late submission of the NDDC budgets.
