Aregbesola advocates community celebration for development

Osun State governor, Mr RaufAregbesola, has advocated unity among sons and daughters of communities for the purpose of celebrating their communities and, as such, enhance development .He said thisat the Iwo Day celebration which was held recently, adding that such celebrations would strengthen the bond of unity and provide ample opportunities for community development.The governor, whowas represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, noted that the participation of every member of the community home and abroad, would enhance individual's sense of participation and,s therefore, eliminate alienation and tendencies towards social vices.The governor, who described the people of Iwo as ardent supporters of his administration, acknowledged the various contributions of some notable Iwo indigenes through friendship and companionship from the time of his campaign, elections and since his assumption of office.Commending the organisers and the entireindigenes of Iwo on the occasion, Aregbesola charged the people irrespective of their ideological, religious and political affiliations to rally round his government by embracing his programmes and policies to fast-track development.Shedding light on the significance of Iwo Day, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, maintained that the annual celebration has served as a veritable avenue for indigenes of the community to coalesce and facilitate progress and development of Iwo and the indigenes as a people.He pointed out that there was every course for the people of Iwo land to be grateful to the government of Mr. Aregbesola for counting them worthyin his administration, adding that people of Iwo would continue to remain loyal to the governor.Chairman Iwo Local Government Area, Alhaji Kamorudeen Alao, who pledged his commitment to making the council area an enviable one for all, appreciated all the people that graced the 2011 Iwo day celebration.He explained that the moral regeneration in the Omoluabi (virtuous) concept in the state was aimed atrepositioning the state for greater economic and social advantages.The council boss chargedall Osun indigenes to imbibe the spirit of a virtuous person.
