The issues between Stardust and Goldust came to a head Sunday night at WWE Fastlane, and in the end, it was the older brother who prevailed in the sibling rivalry.Goldust wrapped Stardust into a crucifix and pinned him for the victory. One-half of The Vaudevillains, Simon Gotch, wonders if Goldust now owns interdimensional dominance for good:The beef between the two is far from over, however, as Stardust confronted both his brother and father, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, after the match. He told the eldest Rhodes that he's tired of being overshadowed, per the WWE Universe:Justin LaBar of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review felt that Stardust's promo helped add even more intrigue to the rivalry:Legendary announcer Jim Ross was also engrossed in the post-match drama:Goldust started teaming with his brother, Cody Rhodes, well over a year ago when they defeated Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins of The Shield to win their jobs back at Battleground 2013. Since then, they have enjoyed a great deal of success together. They won the WWE Tag Team Championships in 2013 and repeated that feat in September 2014, but on that occasion, it was done with Cody playing the role of Stardust. The Stardust character is notable for the fact that it is arguably even more bizarre than Goldust, and that has become apparent in recent weeks.Without explanation, Stardust hung his brother out to dry multiple times by leaving in the middle of matches. As evidenced by this tweet, he also seems to have taken on a more aggressive attitude:Goldust has experienced a career resurgence since returning to WWE, and it can be argued that he is better than ever from an in-ring perspective despite being 45 years of age. That resurgence has also coincided with his partnership with Stardust.Even with his brother continuing to turn his back on him, Goldust made it clear that he was unwilling to do the same:In an effort to patch things up between Goldust and Stardust, their father appeared on Raw to give them a pep talk:Although they seemed to be on the same page, Stardust took his frustrations out on Goldust after a loss by hitting him with Cross Rhodes.Dusty tried to talk some sense into his wayward son after the incident, but Stardust was defiant and made it clear that he no longer wanted to be known as "Cody."At 29 years of age, Stardust is very much in his prime as a wrestler, and while it can be argued that he hasn't reached his full potential yet, a feud with his brother may be precisely what he needs to reach the next level. It sure looks as though this rivalry will last beyond Fastlane with WrestleMania on the horizon. If it does, then Goldust struck the first blow, but he may not get the last laugh. The Stardust character has seemingly been hit or miss in the eyes of WWE fans, and while it is unclear if Rhodes will continue to use that gimmick moving forward, there is definitely some intrigue surrounding the situation after what happened at Fastlane.Follow@MikeChiarion Twitter.
