Enahoro group seeks constitution review

A pro-democracy group, Anthony Enahoro Legacy Commission, on Thursday extolled the virtues of former leader of Pro-National Conference, Anthony Enahoro, who died a year ago.The body called for a review of the constitution.The group, at a media conference in memory of the essence of Enahoros activism tagged, Enahoro and subsisting national question, described him as a collosus who saw Nigerias problem a long time ago.Chairman of the group and former Minister of Finance, Dr. Idika Kalu, said Enahoro was an embodiment of struggle for a new nation structured to provide a just representation to all its ethnic nationalities.He said, We gather to honour Chief Anthony Enahoro, and to reaffirm most positively our belief that the struggle is far from over.The struggle is to enthrone through a systematic political process from the grass roots, a truly derived peoples constitution, a constitution unfettered by current political gladiators and temporal custodians of contested mandates across several states and even at federal constituencies.On the insecurity in the country, there was the urgent need to enact a people-derived constitution in line with peoples expectations.
