Agriculture'll solve unemployment

THE Oloko of Ijebu-Imusin, in Ogun State, Oba Stephen Adedeji Onafowokan, has enumerated various challenges facing his people.According to the monarch, the incessant occurrence of armed robbery operations in the community is a major challenge, urging the citizens to be more security conscious and provide the security agencies with useful information whenever they noticed suspicious moves around their vicinity.Speaking at his 20th coronation anniversary, Oba Onafowokan said agricultural development was a key factor in reducing mass unemployment in Ijebu-Imusin, as well as in Nigeria at large, adding that unemployment accounted for the rise in criminal activities in the society, especially among the youth.Although, many industries in Ijebu-Imusin had been forced out of business as a result of harsh economic conditions, the traditional ruler encouraged industrious citizens to tap from the unlimited wealth and opportunities which abound in agricultural business and make good use of them for the economic development of the community. This, according to him, will help reduce youth's involvement in criminal activities and other social vices.He also explained the need for the town to have a new palace complex as a result of the deprivation the kingdom has experienced in building a veritable archive of relics and treasures.
