Sambo, Atiku, 4 govs vow to ensure Nyako's victory

Published by Daily Trust on Fri, 16 Dec 2011

Vice President Namadi Sambo, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as well as governors of Taraba, Gombe, Bauchi and Sokoto states - Danbaba Suntai, Ibrahim Dankwambo, Isa Yuguda and Aliyu Wamakko respectively - have said that they would work for the victory of Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako in the January 14 gubernatorial election in the state. They said this yesterday during Nyako's campaign rally held at the Ribadu Square, Yola, the state capital. Our correspondent reports that Senator Jibril Aminu, Grace Bent, Silas Zwingina and Bamanga Tukur were absent at rally. The Nyako's campaign train was headed by Sambo and had the PDP National Legal Adviser, Chief Olusola Oke, as secretary as well as former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP's) Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, Atiku Abubakar and the four governors in attendance as members.Atiku, who said he had come back with full force to deliver Adamawa State for the PDP during the election, also assured that many aggrieved members of the party would soon return.''For those who think that we are joking, here we are to deliver Adamawa State come January 2012, and even those who might have defected to the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) or the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in protest will vote for the PDP, and I can assure you that Adamawa State is for the PDP'', Atiku said.
