No development without peace, says Minister

The Minister of Youth Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi yesterday asserted in Abuja that no meaningful development can exist in the country without a high measure of peace, as he called on the Nigerian youths to shun any form of violence.The Minister, who was represented at a workshop by the Acting Director General of Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), Mr. Michael Fawole spoke at the training organized by CLTC and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for the youths of 19 Northern States on the need for peace and security. Citing some war-torn countries in the world, the Minister said rather than engage in productive means of livelihood, the people were hiding for safety, everywhere, thereby debarring such countries from experiencing growth and development.
