TO sustain Judo sport across the country, the National Technical Adviser of the Nigeria Judo Federation, Bashir Bassey has called on spirited individuals and corporate organisations in Nigeria to invest more in the events.Bashir, made the call during the opening ceremony of cadets Judo competition held at the Ibrahim Bacha youth centre when he was addressing participants at the end of the competition organised by Nasarawa state's Judo Association in collaboration with Knight Global Telcoms Ltd, in Nasarawa state Capital at the weekend.According to the technical adviser who was also head of the organising committee, the ten-weight category competition was aimed at fishing out young, talented stars with ambitious talents in Judo within the north central geo-political zone comprising of Plateau, Nasarawa Kogi, Benue, Kwara, Niger and the Federal Capital Territory FCT.At the end of the competition, Nasarawa state emerged overall winners with seven gold medals, followed by Kogi and Benue states respectively.The competition featured ten weight categories of 25kg to 45kg for girls as well as 30kg to 50kg respectively for boys.
