Traditional rulers charge Ogun govt on security

Traditional rulers in Ogun Statehave appealed to the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, to find a permanent solution to the security challenges in the state.Speaking at the inauguration of the re-constituted state Council of Obas in Abeokuta, its out-going Chairman, the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Michael Sonariwo, noted with regret, that the state had been under siege by men of the underworld in recent time.``Right now, we have been terrorised by armed robbers and cultists in our various towns and domains and this is not good for us. We are also not relenting in our efforts to salvage the situation.``We have made the outcome of our investigation known and we have submitted our report for possible consideration by the state government.''The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, the new chairman of the council, pleaded with Governor Amosun to work hard in order to improve the security situation in the state.He also urged other traditional rulers to support the government and the police in their quest to make the state safe.Responding, Governor Amosun reiterated government's determination to provide adequate security in the state, saying, ``we have taken decisive steps to rid the state of criminals.He appealed for the support of the traditional rulers, particularly at the grass roots, in identifying criminals resident in the various communities.
