Omokaro targets Premier League players

Bendel Insurance coach Bright Omokaro is looking to the elite division to sign new players for his Nigeria National League side before the new season begins in 2012.The former international, who had managed Delta Force in the lower division, is confident Insurance will get promotion to the top flight by the close of next season if he gets the right players.Insurance barely escaped relegation last season as three points separated them from the danger zone which had eight other teams swept to the amateur division.That will not happen again in the club but it is not what only the coach can do; its a team work which the players and the management will be fully involved, Omokaro said.We are already assessing new players for the club and we hope to have a comprehensive list before the New Year. Some of the players have come from Premier League clubs but they will have to impress before we can sign them on.It is important we have experienced players in the team because the battle ahead is expected to be tough as we plan to gain promotion to the top division.Omokaro said the club would release some of the players it had last season but refused to name the affected players.He said, We have a new philosophy in the club and some of the former players dont fit in our plans. They will be asked to seek for new clubs but were yet to concluded on the new shape the team will take.
