Guinness renews Eagles sponsorship 'Udoh gets Eagles call-up 'Eagles are unpatriotic Nigerians -Nwosu

GUINNESS Nigeria plc continues over a decade of investment in Nigerian football by confirming its sponsorship of the Nigerian Football Federation for at least the next two years.This see Guinness renewing a relationship with the footballing fans of Nigeria that has brought the country some of the best footballing experiences ever seen including local fan parks during CAN, the An Evening With programme providing an opportunity for the fans to meet the best of international talent, EPL broadcast sponsorship and GUINNESS THE MATCH, where age-old rivals and international supremo team Argentina was brought to play the Super Eagles on home turf in Abuja.Commenting on the renewal, Secretary General of the NFF; Mr Musa Amadu said: 'The NFF is proud to continue working alongside Guinness on this journey to GREATNESS'. Over the next 24 months we have some audacious goals, with CAN 2013 and the FIFA World Cup 2014 on the horizon.This is such an important time, not only for the NFF and the Super Eagles, but for each and every Nigerian football fan out there who dreams of greatness for their national side, and we are so happy to have GUINNESS at our side.'Meanwhile,SUPER Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has extended a special invitation to Olympic international defender, Kingsley Udoh even though he was not picked in a squad of 30 players from the NPL.Udoh revealed to MTNFootball.com that he has been handed a call-up to the Eagles by Keshi.'Eagles chief coach Stephen Keshi has invited me to the Abuja camp of the Eagles,' Udoh disclosed.'I am looking forward to impressing the Eagles gaffer who has kept tabs on me and my recovery since our return from Morocco.'Keshi also confirmed his special call-up to the former U17 central defender."I have told Kingsley to report to camp on Monday even though he was not among the 30 players I invited,' the Eagles coach said.Thirty players from the domestic league began training in Abuja Monday ahead of February's 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali.Meanwhile,FORMER Green Eagles midfielder; and national Under-17 coach, Henry Nwosu, has branded the present crop of Super Eagles players as unpatriotic just as Nigeria defeated Gabon in the opening match of the on-going Ogun Mock Nations Cup.The Marocc 88' Africa Cup of Nations team member speaking at the opening ceremony of the first edition of Ogun State Mock Nations Cup tagged 'Ilaro 2011' said that the present crop of players representing the country, do not really have the love of the country at heart while playing for the country but only love to wear the green white green jersey for the fun of it.According to him, this was as a result of their lack of commitment to national team assignments compared to their days in the national team.The former New Nigeria players who are ACB FC player said, 'we do not have players who are patriotic, but we only have players that want to wear the green white green jersey, compared to our days, when we play, we played because of the passion we have for the nation but the case is not the same these days,' he said.He thus advised the players to have a change of heart saying 'the country should come first before anything, with that the country's football will improve for better,' he said.Meanwhile, Nigeria defeated Gabon by a lone goal in one of the matches of the Ogun Mock Nations Cup tagged, 'Ilaro 2011' played at the Gateway International Stadium. Cote d'Ivorie also defeated Guinea by the same margin while Morocco held Sudan to a 2-2 draw.Project coordinator, Biodun Elegbede pledged a hitch free tournament saying 'it promise to set own record and the experience cannot be different from that of Ajegunle Mock Nations Cup in Lagos,' he said.
