Tribune holds 35th AGM today

SHAREHOLDERS of African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN) Plc, publishers of the Tribune titles, will today converge on Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, to receive and adopt the report of directors, and the audited financial statements for the year ended 30th June, 2011 at the 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM).At the event, four beneficiaries of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative dubbed Dideolu Scholarship Scheme, namely Kassim Gafar Alade; Alawaiye Ismat Bolanle; Jagun Tairu Oluwatosin and Adeleye Adeola Olayemi, who are students of the Lagos State University (LASU) and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) Ago-Iwoye respectively, would each be presented with cheques for between N75,000 and N100,000.The meeting, which would be chaired by the chairman/co-founder, ANN Plc, Dr (Mrs) HID Awolowo, will also consider the declaration of dividends and election of members of the Audit Committee, among other issues slated for deliberation.The company, which has declared dividend in the last 12 years, and given four script issues and three Rights to shareholders, is a leading player in the newspaper industry with cognate experience spanning 62 years.
