Irepodun LG begins renovation of 22 classrooms

Two classrooms areto be renovated ineach ward of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.Speaking while flagging off the renovation of 22 classrooms in all the 11 wards of the local government, the chairman of the council, Barrister Basirat Babalola Mohammed, said that the project was the first phase of classrooms to be renovated in the council, adding that the local government would soon construct two more classrooms in each of the wards.The council boss said the multi-million project was part of the efforts to improve the standard of education in the area.The council chairman also appealed to parents and teachers to reciprocate the council's gesture by ensuring that they send their children and wards to school, saying that education was the best legacy a nation or a parent could give to the youth.Barrister Mohammed also called on the contractors handling the projects to complete the work within one month and ensure that they maintain the contractual agreement, warning that failure would lead to revocation of the project.She urged the people of the area to continue to support the council and pledged to embark on projects with direct bearing on the lives of the people of the area.Also speaking on behalf of the contractors, Alhaji Kasali Oyedele, pledged not to let the council down by ensuring that they work in accordance with the job specifications and also complete the project within the time frame.A cross section of the people of the community who commented on the project, commended the council chairman for fulfilling her electioneering campaign promises
