Oba seeks govt's presence at Igbope

The Onigbope ofIgbopeland in Oke-Ogun Area of Oyo State, Oba Matthew Olaniyi Atoyebi II, has expressed his desire for the people of Igbope community to feel government presence at all level in the community through provision of social amenities.Oba Atoyebi, while speaking with Community News in his palace in Igbope in Oorelope Local Government, said the community has been backward due to lack of government presence that can make life more meaningful for the people of the community.He urged the state government to provide social amenities such as boreholes, building of more maternity health centres, schools, public toilets and even a small industry that will provide job for the youths of the community.On the issue of Boko Haram, the Onigbope said the Federal Government was the chief security officer of the country and should be able to put in proactive measures on security to stem the wave of violence blowing across the country, especially the Boko Haram insurgence.'Security has gone beyond what the government thinks it is. Arresting those perceived to be backers of the sect is not the issue but prosecuting them is what Nigerians are after. We can not continue to have some senseless people running loose and killing innocent people at will,' Atoyebi said.
