NEMA begins special operations for Yuletide

THE National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has begun a two-week operation tagged: 'Eagle Eye',which willboost response to accidents during the Yuletide.NEMA Zonal Coordinator for the North-Central Zone, Alhassan Danjuma,disclosed this yesterday in Abuja in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).He said that the operation was to complement the efforts of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) during the festive period.'The idea behind the operation is to involve trained NEMA Search and Rescue team to assist the FRSC in providing coordinated first aid assistance to accident victims'.He said that NEMA donated fire extinguishers, rubber hand-gloves, masks, stretchers and spine boards to the FRSC, Hawan Kibo Unit Command, on the Abuja-Jos road where accidents are common at this period.
