A'Ibom deputy gov urges prayers for unity

THE Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Nsima Ekere, has called on the church to work for the unity of the state through constant prayers.According to a statement, Ekere, who spoke at a thanksgiving service to mark the end of the 2011 annual convention of the Methodist Diocese of Uyo on Sunday, stressed the need for unity to ensure continuous progress and development of the state.He also urged the church to pray for the leaders in the country to enable them deliver democracy dividend and for Nigeria to overcome its current security challenges.Very Rev. Umoh Mbuk, who preached the sermon at the service, called on all to seek Jesus, pointing out that with Jesus, one will have dominion over sin and be free from condemnation.
