Reverend Samuel Sadela tells Tope Olukole that the secret to stable electricity is in allowing all the tiers of government to generate electricity.AS 2011 is gradually winding up, the world oldest preacher, Reverend Samuel Akinbode Sadela is among Nigerians who believe there is hope for the country, but the people must be ready to do the will of God.An apostle of peace, who is committed to the development of the country, he appealed to the three tiers of government on the need to urgently attend to the problem of power supply and make the refineries to work, which is very essential to the growth of our economy.According to him, 'How do we create jobs in darkness' Our current leaders should not allow the country to return back to 'Egypt' since we are on our way to the Canaan land'The 112-year old preacher, who has also spent 80 years on the pulpit, opined that each state of the federation should be able to generate its own electricity and refine its crude oil.He said, 'Nigeria is very important in the history of Africa. I have been to so many European countries. Power should be our primary priority, so that the labour of our heroes past will not be in vain.'He recalled that he started campaign for self independence of states in the area of electricity generation and establishment of refineries 10 years ago 'but we must take a good step of faith and follow the wisdom of God,' he said.Quoting from Genesis 1:1-3, Papa, as fondly called, said, 'God could not do anything about creation until there was light, therefore the government of Nigeria should make light available to Nigerians. Let there be light. With light our industries will begin to function well. Let there be light.'While praising past leaders and some of the incumbent governors in various states of the federation for their activities in infrastructural development, the cleric said, 'More still need to be done and I know that next year will be a year of opportunities for us in the country, but we must listen to God for direction.'Papa Sadela who is passionate about the ministry committed to him, revealed how he trekked from Odo-Owa to Ilorin and back, a distance, round trip, of 112 miles (180 Kilometers) in company of a friend and one Victor on a missionary journey. He is also reputed to have travelled the length and breadth of the South-West, Nigeria on bicycle for missionary journeys.Nevertheless, he suffered the loss of seven children to infant mortality in his first marriage consummated in 1934. He narrowly escaped death in a motorcycle accident in 1948.Narrating his background, Papa said, 'I completed standard six education in 1920. I was an active member of the Boys Scout, but I can never forget how I narrowly missed an opportunity to travel to England in 1925 as part of the Nigeria contingent of Boys Scout, I could not make the trip because my father was indisposed.'His act of inviting Reverend Curtis to Nigeria in 1954 led to the establishment of the Four Square Gospel Church in Nigeria till date.
