Udenu LG boss woos Chime on road construction

The chairman of Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Godwin Abonyi, has solicited for partnership and assistance of the Sullivan Chime-led government in the construction of a-21 kilometre ring road in the council connecting six communities of Imilike Ani-Ezimo-Imilike Agu-Ogbodu Abba-Obollo Ettiti and Amalla.Abonyi said he appreciated the state government's programme tagged 'Visit Every Community' (VEC) which led to the recent visit by Governor Chime to all the communities, adding that he was particularly interested in partnering with the state government to see that the road was constructed since the council cannot execute the project alone.The council chairman pledged that he and his team in Udenu would continue to respect the social contract they entered into with their people and pledged that their administration, if re-elected, would strive to do even much better than they did in the past two years of their first term.'At the local government level in the past two years, we have been able to deliver democracy dividends to our people in the areas of human, capital and infrastructural development more than the local government area witnessed since her creation over 15 years ago,' he added.Governor Chime during his campaign tour to the local government area had however told the council to consider the project done in 2012, promising that the ring-road would receive the state government attention in the coming fiscal year.
