Adamawa workers want SSG probed over donation to Nyako

WORKERS in Adamawa State yesterday called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe the recent donation of 21 vehicles and N5 million by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Kobis Ari Thimnu, to Governor Murtala Nyako's campaign organisation.The workers, who alleged non-payment of their salaries for several months, expressed shock on how the SSG got the money to buy such large number of vehicles and cash donation to the governor.Those, who spoke with The Guardian on condition of anonymity, said the new EFCC boss, Ibrahim Lamorde, who is from Adamawa State, has a task of proving to the world that he has the capacity to fight corruption in the country by using his state as an example to others.While presenting the vehicles and cash recently in Yola to Nyako organisation at his residence, the SSG said they were donated to boost the campaign for the purpose of mobilising votes to return the governor to office during the polls slated for January next year.Kobis, who assured the governor of his total loyalty, pointed out that he was prepared to mobilise electorate in his area to vote for the governor.Nyako, who commended his SSG for the donation, noted that the vehicles would assist his supporters to canvass votes for him.
